This past week Herman Cain and his wife Gloria have been in Israel. The first two, from The Blaze, are of Cain at the Western Wall. The other two are of the Cains at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, taken from his Facebook page:
Oh wait, that's not the Tea Party. It's Obama-supporting Democrat-voting* public union teacher protesters -- again.
Yes, the Democrat-media complex still smear the Tea Party and anti-Obama conservative Americans as vitriolic and racist, and most recently "the real enemy" who can "go straight to hell." Meanwhile in the real world, actual vitriol and (by the left's own standards) racism occurred at the hands of union protesters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin both Thursday and Friday.
As reported by Milwaukee's local Fox-TV affiliate:
Vandals super glued the locks of several doors and a parking gate at Messmer Preparatory School in Milwaukee. School officials believe the people responsible for the vandalism were protesting the visit of Gov. Scott Walker Friday afternoon.
Gov. Walker was expected to arrive at 1 p.m. to speak to kindergarten and first grade students about reading.
Late Thursday night, school officials were informed that building alarms had been set off. Then, Friday morning, they discovered that nine locks on the property's exterior doors had been sealed with glue. The doors tampered with included a parking gate, several doors to the building and even a church building door.
That was Thursday. Then on Friday, a throng of protesters converged on the school while reviled Republican Governor Scott Walker was inside. The protesters shouted such intolerant things as for the school to get out of their neighborhood (specifically Christians; Messmer is a Catholic school).
This is bone-chilling. Here is a throng of left-wing Democrats intimating children while at school and shouting that they should get out of town. You know what that kind of activity is called? (Used to be at least): Terrorizing. And it's the Tea Party that's compared to the KKK and Jim Crow-era bigots?? Puh-lease!
So, where does the racism part come in? Well, the president and CEO of the Messmer schools, Br. Bob Smith, is black. One of the principals of the three schools (who I don't believe was present at the protest) is also black. And, at least according to these online images -- I couldn't find ethnic data on their website -- most of Messmer's student body are black or another ethnic minority. When Brother Bob came out of the school (as you will see in the video below), he was quite obnoxiously harrassed. (You might say he was given the John Lewis treatment. Hey, who's to say Brother Bob wasn't spat upon by a racist white public union teacher protester?)
Ed Morrissey at Hot Air links to this video below and goes on to explain that Messmer is a “choice school,” it operates outside the clutches of public teacher union and boasts a +85% graduation rate. By alarmingly stark contrast the public school graduation rate of blacks and Hispanics, is 49% and 54%, respectively. No wonder Wisconsin's left-wing Democrats hate this school and seek to demonize and eliminate it!
Bret Healy at Big Government also writes about this protest, saying:
The event was a perfect storm for the unhinged Left: A chance to combine their absolute hatred of the Republican governor with their complete disdain for the nation’s longest running school choice program.
SEIU, AFSCME and Milwaukee Public School officials combined forces with Students for a Democratic Society, self-professed Hippies and others to march, sing, chant and yell at not only the governor, but the students and staff of Messmer Preparatory School.
The Messmer story is inspiring, and one I’ll tell in greater detail here soon. What’s really striking to me is this obnoxious display of thuggery comes onthe heels of the release of the MacIver Educational Choice Census, which shows that throughout Wisconsin, parents are embracing educational options. In Milwaukee, nearly 4 out of 5 children attend a school other than the one geographically assigned to them by the public school bureaucrats.
By the way, other than local Wisconsin affiliates, have any mainstream news media outlets covered this blatant videotaped exhibit of violence, vandalism, and racism? Of course not. It doesn't fit the liberal lie that it's the Tea Party that's violent, destructive and racist and that it's liberals/Democrats who aren't.
Spread stories like this far and wide, dear readers. The real documentable truth is out there; more people just need to see it.
*How do I know these violent protesters were Obama-supporting Democrats? Believe me, I know.
It's bad enough when MSNBC recently gave race-baiter and violence-inciter Al Sharpton his own show (talk about rewarding failure!). But yesterday when discussing hurricane preparedness, anchor Martin Bashir brings on ... wait for it ... Ray Nagin. For those of you who get your news mostly from the DBF* media, Nagin is the mayor of the long-time Democrat stronghold New Orleans who (1) failed to properly evacuate and protect his citizens during Hurricane Katrina, (2) blamed Bush and Republican "racism" for the federal governments alleged failure to help, and (3) later got reelected by his own stupid electorate -- yes, New Orleans residents, I am calling you stupid. Because you are -- by using typical Democrat race-baiting tactics to divert attention from his own incompetence.
Nagin didn’t deny that he made some errors with Katrina in 2005. But he put much of the blame on New Orleanians themselves:
“Well, I would tell you this, Martin: It was a historic, catastrophic event … “[N]ow that I have had a chance to really go back and take a look, there are a number of things that I think that I could have done better. But in an evacuation situation where a catastrophic storm is approaching, the leader has one responsibility, but also the citizen has a responsibility to heed the warnings and act appropriately.”
So, Nagin goes on to admit he's not exactly the poster child for a government official exhibiting hurricane preparedness. But MSNBC doesn't care about that. All they care about is, just like Al Sharption, he's the right color and is on the right (or, rather, left) side of the spectrum.
Well, sorta. Ruh-oh! It's not just the general American population President Golden Calf is having problems with. CNS News is reporting on this recent Gallup poll. As ZIP at Weazel Zippers says, "One in five blacks are now racist by the standards put in place by the Democratic party and their MSM lapdogs.":
President Barack Obama’s job approval tied its all-time low among black Americans last week, according to the Gallup poll.
When asked by Gallup in the week of Aug. 8-14 whether they approved of the way Obama was handling his job as president, a record-low 81 percent of blacks surveyed said that they did. Back in the week of Feb. 28-March 6, Obama’s approval among blacks also dropped to as low as 81 percent.
After that, Obama’s approval among black Americans had rebounded to as high as 91 percent in Gallup polling conducted the week of May 9-15 of this year.
As recently as the week of Jan. 10-16, Obama’s approval among blacks was at 94 percent in the Gallup poll ...
Wait, 94 percent of blacks supported Obama at one point? Now that's racist. Clearly more than a fair share were supporting the loser just because of his color.
Yes, it's been a while since I've done a "Cain Corner" ...
Thursday's GOP debate on Fox News was certainly interesting, and things will no doubt get more interesting today as the candidates show up in Ames, Iowa.
Despite the fact that Herman Cain, in my opinion, did not hurt himself Wednesday nor did he thrust himself any further, he is still my #1 choice. Right now the net is buzzing with predictions of a Bachmann, Romney, and even Ron Paul win today in Iowa. Cain isn't even in the mainstream GOP radar and that stinks. I firmly believe he is the only one able to beat Obama in 2012. Any other candidate will have to work extremely hard to squeak by a win. That's my opinion.
In other news, here is a pretty good interview Herm gave yesterday evening with Michael Savage at the Savage Nation:
From Fred Kopp at American Thinker, on the ridiculousness of "hate crime" laws and the vicious flash mob in Milwaukee:
In the future, when the detritus of American jurisprudence is mined for clues about what went wrong, the advent of hate crimes will rank right up there along with prohibition and affirmative action. A murder is a murder. An assault is an assault. A robbery is a robbery. Each crime must be prosecuted for what it is. Any fatuous "enhancement" because of race, gender, religion, sexual preference, disability, or any other liberal "protected class" serves only to diminish those victims who do not meet such criteria, and falsely elevate those who do. It is a slap in the face to our bedrock principle of "equal justice under law," and a violation of our sacred American contract.
Meanwhile, back at the state fair, Milwaukee police watch as black thugs single out white fair goers to attack. The blood is real, the pain is real, the screams are real, but is it a hate crime or not? WHO CARES? I contend that the blood, the pain and the screams are quite real enough for an arrest. Any manufactured motivation beyond simple criminality cannot accurately be determined, and any attempt to do so is justice denied, or worse.
One hapless Deputy Police Commissioner says, "You can't simply look at the race of the offender and the race of the victim and say it's ethnic intimidation. It may be, but we're not sure. Does it give us pause? Yes, it does."
But that's the wrong question. The question is, "Has a crime been committed?" No pause is necessary. There should be an immediate arrest. The commissioner has been unfairly saddled with a vague, unenforceable pseudo-legal concept that should be none of his concern. His job is to acknowledge that a crime has occurred and to make an arrest. It should not include psychoanalyzing some underlying, totally subjective, social excuse for bad behavior.
Liberals would have us believe otherwise. They find hate in everything. In fact, they love hate. They think that they are doing us all a favor by tacking on enhanced penalties for criminals who, they determine, have some mythical axe to grind against their victims because they are, in some slight way, "different." If I were asked to dream up a narrative more ridiculous, I'm sure that I could not. ...
Nothing to see here, folks. Just another global warming climate change myth in the process of being blown out of the icy Arctic water. From Audrey Hudson at Human Events:
Special agents from the Interior Department’s inspector general's office are questioning the two government scientists about the paper they wrote on drowned polar bears, suggesting mistakes were made in the math and as to how the bears actually died, and the department is eyeing another study currently underway on bear populations.
Biologist Charles Monnett, the lead scientist on the paper, was placed on administrative leave July 18. Fellow biologist Jeffrey Gleason, who also contributed to the study, is being questioned, but has not been suspended.
The disputed paper was published by the journal Polar Biology in 2006, and suggests that the “drowning-related deaths of polar bears may increase in the future if the observed trend of regression of pack ice and/or longer open-water periods continues.”
It galvanized the environmental movement that led to the bear’s controversial listing in 2008 as threatened, and it is now protected under the Endangered Species Act.
Although the four dead bears cited in the paper were observed from 1,500 feet during flights over the Beaufort Sea, and the carcasses were never recovered or examined, Gleason told investigators it is likely the creatures drowned in a sudden windstorm that produced 30-knot winds, not for lack of an ice pack.
“We never mentioned global warming in the paper,” Gleason told the investigators, according to the transcript.
“But it’s inferred,” responded investigator Eric May. “That’s why the world took it up as a global warming tangent.” ...
The image-makers who advise George W. Bush got what they wanted this week: a photograph, taken by the Associated Press and published in seemingly every newspaper in the country, of the President lifting a telephone pole as he "helped maintain" a nature trail in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park.
-- Article in Time magazine by contributor Jay Carney on then-President George W. Bush, August 16, 2001. [h/t Mark Levin]
Now:
[I] don't think Americans out there would begrudge that notion that the President would spend some time with his family. It is also, as I think anyone who has covered in the past, either in this administration or others, there is no such thing as a presidential vacation. The Presidency travels with you. He will be in constant communication and get regular briefings from his national security team as well as his economic team. And he will of course be fully capable, if necessary, of traveling back if that were required ..."
-- Jay Carney, White House secretary, on Barack Obama's upcoming Martha's Vineyard vacay, August 10, 2011.
Any questions?
P.S. Love how these mainstream media types go through the revolving door of the Democrat Party and the media (or academia)? I'm sure when he's done with this White House gig, Carney will have a nice cushy well-paying job back in the mainstream media. As the "Great One" would say: They're an incestuous little bunch, aren't they?
A Nevada judge on Wednesday gave ACORN, the defunct grass-roots community organization, the maximum fine for its illegal voter-registration scheme in that state.
District Court Judge Donald Mosley was blunt and unsparing in his criticism of the discredited activist group. Citing the long history of voter registration fraud allegations that engulfed ACORN across the country, he slapped the group with a $5,000 fine for violating Nevada election law during the 2008 presidential election.
Mosley, reading the pre-sentence report, listed a series of voter registration fraud allegations against ACORN workers. He said that if the claims have been true, then “It is making a mockery of our election process. If I had an individual in this courtroom…who was responsible for this kind of thing, I would put that person in prison for 10 years, hard time, and not think twice about it,” he said. “To me this is reprehensible. This is the kind of thing you see in some banana republic, Uruguay or someplace, not in the United States.”
In Nevada, ACORN pleaded guilty to one felony count of unlawful compensation for registration of voters, stemming from an illegal voter registration scheme in its Las Vegas office during in the 2008 race.
However, the fine is only $5,000. ... You can bet that ACORN will be back on the streets conducting voter registration efforts for the 2012 presidential election.
And yours truly has some questions:
(1) Why is the max. fine for voter fraud only $5,000?
(2) Why are the only news sources covering this as of this writing the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Fox News
(3) What did Obama know and when did he know it?
Oh yeah, one more: Will any of my beloved "Bush stole the 2000 election" and "Bush stole the 2004 election" friends -- and you know who you are! -- give a *&$#@?
