One of [Obama’s] lines in the [Nobel Peace Prize] speech was, “No matter how justified, war promises human tragedy.” … But just wars, morally correct just wars end human tragedy. For reference, check American history. … We’re the only country in the world who’s gone to war with itself to end slavery, and that was a just war which ended human tragedy (or sought to end it.) You would think that Obama as an African-American would appreciate that more than anyone. That has to be one of the lessons of the Civil War. … Just wars end human tragedy. For a country like the United States, that’s why wars are fought, to liberate people.
