Rhetoric vs. Reality: Open, Honest Debate?

Rhetoric: "All we [liberals/Democrats] want to have is an open, honest debate." This is what we keep hearing from the president, from teary Congresspeople, and from Obama-worshiping media types who - after eight years of the ugliest and vilest bashing of George W. Bush - are suddenly sensitive to the "uncivility" of the angry dissenting masses.

Reality:
