Did you know that President Golden Calf has recently made news by hosting a historic first-ever White House Passover seder? Some of my Dem Jewish friends are impressed and overjoyed by this. Don't remember them expressing similar glee, if any, when Obama’s predecessor welcomed to the White House members of the local Jewish community to light a Chanukah menorah. Funny how that works …
I have a little something to say about this, but first, at the Intellectual Conservative site, Harold Witkov has kind of a humorous take on it. Of course, within all good comedy exists a kernel of truth:
Obama, Moses Differ Over Passover Diplomacy
Harold Witkov | April 10th, 2009
President Obama has ushered in a new form of diplomacy, just in time for Passover.
The Jewish holiday of Passover has arrived and Jews around the world celebrate their deliverance from bondage and subsequent exodus from Egypt. How did this miracle come about? God sent Moses with an ultimatum to Pharaoh: Stop your tyranny or suffer the consequences (plagues). The first nine plagues fell a bit short. By the tenth plague, however, the tyrannical and arrogant Pharaoh had had enough.
Recently, North Korea threatened to launch a satellite missile over Japan and into space. Due to the provocative nature of such a launch, President Obama was quick to criticize North Korea. After the launch, a launch that saw the North Korean missile pass over Japanese airspace, the President was clearly not happy. He spoke of sanctions, a strong international response, a harsh rebuke and the need for non-proliferation in the world. It was Passover Diplomacy; talk tough and when the bullies of the world fire their missiles, hope they pass over.
Like North Korea, Iran teeters on advanced missile and nuclear technology. Unlike Japan, Israel has some options. Iran has called for Israel’s destruction. What should Israel do? Should Israel act like Moses and use her might now? Or, should Israel put her faith in President Obama’s Passover Diplomacy, and hope that the first “satellite” missile Iran sends in Israel’s direction passes over?
I’m about to become the killjoy by saying I don’t think the hosting of a seder by President Obama is funny, or even appropriate for that matter. I firmly believe that Obama’s actions as president, as well his voting record as senator, clearly show that Mr. Obama is against the side of freedom.
Obama has proven to be against freedom, as demonstrated by last week’s humilating apology tour in Europe and the Middle East, during which he accused his own country of “arrogance,” not once acknowledging that it has first and foremost been America that has paid in blood and treasure to save half of Europe from the jackboot of Nazism and Soviet communism.
Obama has demonstrated continuously he has been against freedom in Iraq, showing with his votes as Senator and rhetoric as presidential candidate that he much preferred 25 million Iraqis suffer under their “Pharaoh” Saddam Hussein.
Obama has proven to be against freedom from Islamic terrorism in Israel and—given every resolution he’s passed so far, from the springing of G’tmo terrorists to the eradication of the term “war on terror,” —in the U.S. as well.
Obama has proven to be against the freedom that results from a vibrant free-market capitalist system. Instead, he prefers to impose state-controlled centralized freedom-suppressing regulations at all levels of our economy.
Obama has proven to be against the freedom of the millions of people who comprise the population of Cuba, Iran, and North Korea. He’d rather appease the “Pharaohs” of these nations than confront them.
In short, President Obama is the last person to attend a Passover seder, let alone host one. Unlike George W. Bush before him, President Obama doesn't know the first thing about freedom. And just because he is black—and especially because his black roots are not even American—he has no automatic right to claim to understand slavery.
As is the case so many Democrats currently in positions of power, when it comes to championing freedom and ending oppression, President Obama is no talk and no walk.
Make no mistake: When the much reviled George W. Bush left office in January, there was much more freedom and less oppression around the world than in January, 2001. Similarly, in January, 2012, there will be much less freedom and more oppression than there is right now.
And it will be directly due to the presidency of Barack Obama.
