I don't mind printing corrections or retractions when I'm wrong about something. And this is the second time in 24 hours I've had to do so! I should probably not make any horse race predictions any time soon.
A couple days ago, I and other media-watching bloggers like I Hate the Media surmised that last week's beheading of a Muslim woman by her husband would not get much mainstream media play, owing to the fact that in the MSM political correctness prevails. Painting Muslims in a bad light is a big no-no. (In Europe, many have found this out the hard way; ask Geert Wilder).
Anyway, turns out that now the story is just too big to hide under a media rug. The husband has confessed and has been charged with 2nd-degree murder. (Just 2nd degree? Would did he have to do to get 1st degree, drain the blood out of her body?) It now appears on the front page of the CNN website. It's on the Crime page, mind you, but hey, better than nothing. It's not like it deserves front page coverage like, say, Sarah Palin's wardrobe scandal ...
So, bully for you, CNN. That's gettin' a story. And my apologies for ever doubting you!
... Until tomorrow.
