Yes, this is a patriotism issue. This is beyond the pale. About ten months ago I commented on the actions of Seth MacFarlane, creator of the satirical cartoon sitcom “Family Guy.” I have enjoyed the show enough to purchase its seasonal DVD’s, yet was disturbed only by MacFarlane’s constant depiction of conservatives/Republicans as stupid, evil, easily controlled, and selfish. In other words, the way liberals/Democrats always stereotyped them.
Well, consider my tolerance threshold to have been exceeded. This is really the last straw. With yesterday’s new episode of “Family Guy” residing on my DVR, I couldn’t believe it when I read the following news story:
The animated sitcom ‘Family Guy’ is no stranger to controversy, but on Sunday night the show went into uncharted territory as it seemed to weigh in on the presidential race by likening the McCain/Palin ticket to the Nazi party in World War II.
In the episode, two of the characters, Stewie (a talking baby) and Brian (a talking dog) are transported to Poland during the Nazi invasion of World War II. In one scene, the characters beat up and steal the uniforms of two Nazi officers. Stewie looks down at his Nazi uniform and notices a McCain/Palin campaign button attached to its lapel, remarking “Huh, that’s weird.”
Unbelievable. Mr. MacFarlane, I just have one question for you:
Who the f**k do you think you are?
A show rep tries to defend this disgusting act:
The McCain campaign did not have an immediate comment. A rep for the show defended the episode, telling Foxnews.com: “From its inception, ‘Family Guy’ has used provocative concepts and biting satire as the foundation of its humor. The show is an ‘equal oportunity offender.’”
Oh no, no, no. You don’t get off that easy. Calling a presidential and vice-presidential candidate Nazis isn’t offending.” It’s libel. This is slander. All right? There is no other way to describe calling someone you disagree with politically a Nazi.
Got it?
No. Liberals never get it.
Meanwhile, as Hollywood Today reports, MacFarlane is (surprise) an Obama worshiper:
The show’s creator and the voice behind Brian and Stewie, Seth MacFarlane, is a supporter of McCain’s Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama, having donated $2,300 to Obama’s presidential campaign between 2007 and 2008 and tens of thousands to other Democratic causes since 2005.
MacFarlane also spoke at an Obama rally at Ohio’s Bowling Green State University earlier this month, during which he read a transcript of an interview with Palin regarding Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, which the Alaskan governor does not support.
OK, so let me get this straight: Seth MacFarlane’s candidate, Barack Obama, has promised to meet with no preconditions with a genocidal Islamofascist dictator who denies the Holocaust and who wants the Jews of the world, starting with Israel, to be wiped off the face of the earth.
Seth MacFarlane’s candidate, Barack Obama, has a 20-year mentor who is an unabashed anti-Semitic hate-monger among whose closest friends is Louis Farrakhan, another unabashed anti-Semitic hate-monger who has called Judaism a gutter religion.
But it’s John McCain and Sarah Palin who are analogous to Nazis???
Can someone please tell me what color is the sky in these liberals’ topsy-turvy, upside-down, Orwellian, fantasy world?
Mary, blogging at Freedom Eden, hits MacFarlane hard as well:
I find it despicable that MacFarlane would connect the torturous Nazis with John McCain, especially since McCain himself spent over 5 years as a prisoner of war, being tortured.
McCain deserves far more respect from MacFarlane.
Where’s the gratitude for McCain’s service?
Does MacFarlane support the troops?
We know he looks down on Navy veteran McCain so much that he would depict Nazis as his supporters.
Then again, it could be that MacFarlane means no terrible disrespect to McCain. Maybe he’s targeting his supporters, the people at his rallies, the Joe the Plumber-types.
We’re the Nazis.
And it’s the Right that’s so negative and ugly. Sure.
Exactly. Seriously, this is the last straw. I just may have watched my last episode of “Family Guy.”
