It's bad enough when MSNBC recently gave race-baiter and violence-inciter Al Sharpton his own show (talk about rewarding failure!). But yesterday when discussing hurricane preparedness, anchor Martin Bashir brings on ... wait for it ... Ray Nagin. For those of you who get your news mostly from the DBF* media, Nagin is the mayor of the long-time Democrat stronghold New Orleans who (1) failed to properly evacuate and protect his citizens during Hurricane Katrina, (2) blamed Bush and Republican "racism" for the federal governments alleged failure to help, and (3) later got reelected by his own stupid electorate -- yes, New Orleans residents, I am calling you stupid. Because you are -- by using typical Democrat race-baiting tactics to divert attention from his own incompetence.
As noted by Jeff Poor at the Daily Caller:
Nagin didn’t deny that he made some errors with Katrina in 2005. But he put much of the blame on New Orleanians themselves:
“Well, I would tell you this, Martin: It was a historic, catastrophic event … “[N]ow that I have had a chance to really go back and take a look, there are a number of things that I think that I could have done better. But in an evacuation situation where a catastrophic storm is approaching, the leader has one responsibility, but also the citizen has a responsibility to heed the warnings and act appropriately.”
So, Nagin goes on to admit he's not exactly the poster child for a government official exhibiting hurricane preparedness. But MSNBC doesn't care about that. All they care about is, just like Al Sharption, he's the right color and is on the right (or, rather, left) side of the spectrum.
The successful need not apply.
