Remember how Democrats were talking about how Sarah Palin scared them? I do. During the 2008 presidential campaign, dozens of my liberal/Democrat friends and relatives were constantly telling me how scary they thought she was:
She is a devout Christian wants to impose her religion on us and turn the country into a theocracy? Scary!
She’s against murdering innocent babies in the womb anti-choice? Scary!
She’s a staunch believer in the Second Amendment against gun control? Scary.
She has a lot more than Obama’s no foreign policy knowledge or experience? Scary!
Sarah Palin’s not scary. You know who is? Barack Hussein Obama.
Why? Because after all of the self-avowed America-hating, capitalism-despising, terrorist-coddling socialism-loving scum he has appointed to various posts, this one takes the cake:
The man’s name is Donald Berwick. He has worked for Britain’s failed inhumane NHS and perceives it as a model for American’s brave new government-run system. And two weeks ago the human wrecking ball in the Oval Office nominated him to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Britain’s system, which is a political and moral disaster, Berwick has said:
“Cynics beware, I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it. All I need to do to rediscover the romance is to look at health care in my own country.”
This would be the same NHS that, according to the American Spectator, enjoys this record of success:
In March 2009, a report found that up to 1,200 died as a result of “appalling standards of care” at just one hospital in Britain’s NHS. The Telegraph reported that “patients (were) left for hours in soiled bedclothes.…” In addition, “Patients described one ward as a ‘war zone’ and said people were often left in Stafford’s A&E (Accident and Emergency) for hours covered in blood and without pain relief, even though they had serious injuries. Others were left without food or drink, leading some to reportedly drink from vases when thirsty.”
In November, another report estimated that up to 400 patients a year died at two other hospitals, with similar conditions that included, according to the Telegraph, “lack of basic nursing skills, curtains spattered with blood on wards, mould in vital equipment and patients being left in A&E for up to ten hours.”
For other examples of the disastrous NHS Berwick has a big crush on, see here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Oh wow, I cannot wait for this to come to the U.S., can you?
So why is Donald Berwick such a cheerleader for the British health care system? Because he is a radical, extremist, ultra-leftist ideologue, with an Ivy League degree—kinda like someone else we know. (I’m not bashing Ivy League degrees; I happen to possess one himself, but at least I didn’t get brainwashed by the liberal machine.)
Berwick is an outspoken hater of capitalism and the free market system—especially those created by the medical, pharmaceutical, and insurance industries. This is despite all the inginuity and prosperity it has created in this country. He is instead a firm believer of strong-fisted centralized government control and of wealth redistribution (you know, that word Obama likes so much).
All this makes Berwick a threat to freedom, to liberty, to personal private property, and therefore to every single American citizen. The man is as radical and extremist and fringe as anyone Obama has nominated so far—and that’s saying much!
Of course you won’t hear a peep about this ultra-leftist and his radical views from the Obamedia. They’re too busy reporting about that “police state” Arizona run by that neo-Nazi Jan Brewer or those extremist angry racist “teabaggers” or those fringe hate-mongering violence-fomenting talkers of the far-right like Rush and Beck. Berwick’s sordid record will be whitewashed like the rest of Obama’s appointments.
Don't believe me? Here is how the Washington Post described this radical capitalism-hating Marxist on April 20:
President Obama formally announced Monday his nominee for administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, fulfilling widespread expectations that he would tap Donald Berwick, a Harvard University professor and leading advocate for improving health-care quality and efficiency. …
Berwick, who specializes in health-care policy and pediatrics, has never led such a large organization. As head of the Boston-based Institute for Healthcare Improvement, however, he is known for persuading doctors and hospitals to adopt innovative methods for reducing medical errors.
Got that? A “professor and leading advocate for improving health-care quality and efficiency”? He “specializes in health-care policy and pediatrics”? Is this a news article or a White House press release? Did David Axelrod himself write this article for the WaPo?
But enough from yours truly. Listen to “The Great One” Mark Levin’s expose the real Donald Berwick from last night’s show. And then tell me who’s more scary: him and Obama, or Sarah Palin?
