”Democrats voted for the bill and a Republican voted for the bill. That equals bipartisan.”
— House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-La-la Land, November 8, 2009
This would be the same Nancy Pelosi who a few short days ago considered the romping of President Hope&Change’s two gubernatorial candidates in Virginia and New Jersey a win for the Democrats.
After several minutes, Cao cast a yes vote from his seat, making the bill bipartisan.

Reality:
Um, no, folks. One single Republican vote does not a “bipartisan” bill make.
And if it does, than opposition to the bill is nearly forty times more bipartisan: 39 Democrats voted with the Republicans against Nancy’s unconstitutional life- and liberty-sucking bill.
Funny how that part doesn’t make news …
Jay, who’s “stuck in Massachusetts,” writes in his Marooned blog:
We do get a glimpse into the workings of the Democratic mind … One Republican out of 202 voted for the bill, so it’s bi-partisan. One half of one percent = a consensus. As long as someone somewhere on the other side of the aisle votes for it, it’s bi-partisan. By Pelosi’s criteria, Bill Clinton’s impeachment was overwhelmingly bipartisan, as all of five Democrats voted to impeach. Or we could consider that 39 Democrats voted against the bill—meaning that the vote against was a LOT more bipartisan than the vote for.
Yeah, we’re in serious trouble, folks. You wanted change? You got it. You are having your life and liberty stolen from you by a tyrannical government whose leaders are literally living in an alternate universe.
Welcome to the future, suckers.

It's always amazing to me how leftist followers wait for their leaders to dictate the truth to them instead of figuring it out for themselves. I mean, how can anyone say this is bipartisan? But, alas, they'll wait for Nancy Pelosi to declare it, then they'll all believe it ... all while condescendingly telling those of us on the right how extreme we are in our ignorance. Whatever happened to common sense? Oh wait, dumb question. That disappeared with hope and change, didn't it?
By the way, I am so embarrassed for my home state right now. Yes, I'm from Louisiana, and even our Democrat congressmen voted against Pelosi's folly. Mr. Cao ws accidentally voted into office, because no one turned out on election day in his Democrat-dominated district to vote. Why? Well, a hurricane named Gustav was in town that day. And the few voters who did turn out were Republicans. Meaning, Mr. Cao more than likely wouldn't win his next race no matter how he voted on Pelosi's folly. He should have chosen to do the right thing instead of fulfilling Pelosi's "bipartisan quota."
Sigh.
