There’s an old Soviet joke: The future is known; it’s the past that’s always changing.
Leftist totalitarians like Stalin and his acolytes were so drunk with power and control that they literally changed history to suit their agenda. Older citizens were brainwashed to forget the past, younger ones were simply indoctrinated in their classrooms.
But such an underhanded and immoral strategy is utilized by the left in this country as well, particularly the mainstream media. If you are under the age of 20 and watched NBC News last night, you would have learned from anchor Brian Williams and on-location reporter Tom Brokaw that it was the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
But what you would not have learned is that the Wall fell on November 10, 1989 due in no small part to the courage of recent ex-president Ronald Reagan. During the entire segment, Williams failed to mention Reagan’s name (or then-President George H.W. Bush’s) even once. [h/t Orlando at the Fort Hard Knox blog]:
Seriously, what a slap in the face to Ronald Reagan in particular and the United States in general. Discussing the fall of the Berlin Wall without mentioning Ronald Reagan is like discussing Christmas without mentioning Chr... Oh, never mind.
Folks, anyone under the age of 20 did not live at the time of the Cold War or when Ronald Reagan was President of the United States and took on the Soviets until the end. Without news anchors or schoolteachers informing them about the Cold War and the events that led up to the fall of the Wall, our young people will not know the truth about one of the greatest moments of America’s direct involvement in world history.
That, in my humble opinion, is exactly what Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw were hoping.
Josef Stalin would’ve been proud.

One of your posters responded to a previous post: "Unfortunately it is true that if you tell a lie often enough--and no one refutes it--it does become truth." I agree. Which is why your post about NBC and other networks' deplorable coverage about the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall is so important. If there is only one voice out there refuting their statements, then their statements must be tested. Joe Wilson was the lone congressional voice refuting Mr. Obama's statement ... and people listened. I know yours isn't the only voice calling the media out on its intentions of writing President Ronald Reagan out of the history books, but it counts. And I thank you for this post.
