Here is the second installment of the “Weekly Roar” by reader LoudLion. (With some shekels from me. Hey, it’s my blog—my prerogative!)
One hundred days; that is where we all stand in the toppling of the United States government as we know it. The days of Representative Democracy are quickly coming to an end.
The man on the street enamored with himself for proving he is not racist for voting a black man in as president will help set the course of race relations in the country back to the days of pre-Martin Luther King, Jr. When the citizens of the United States wake up and realize that President Obama has ruined this country, no black man will be able to get elected to a higher office running as a Democrat. [I whole-heartedly agree with this. The country was so attracted to the idea of having a black president, they nominated and elected the first one out of the gate. Unfortunately, the first black presidential candidate was a radical left-wing ideologue. “But who cares, he’s black, and that’s all that counts!” Now that’s racist. - ETR]
What have we learned these 100 days? What more do we know about our president then we did during the primaries? What his goal? Where does he see my country when he leaves office? I can not answer these questions anymore then the mainstream media and the man/woman on the street, because we do not know.
We do know that he needs a script for even the introduction of his cabinet members. We do know that his Chief of Staff is eager to “...never want[ing] a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” We will all be kibbutzniks if Rahm has his way. All working for the common good of the “Yishuv” as his parents did in the early formation of Israel.
We do know that we have a president who feels it is OK to apologize for the country’s mistakes that are not worth mentioning as mistakes or worth being apologized for. But, press the president on issues of today, and well, we are quick to hear “I was only 3 when [the Bay of Pigs] happened” or “That wasn’t me [re: deficit budget].” I try to teach my children to stand up for themselves and accept blame. You will look stronger in the eyes of the accuser and pushing blame will not solve the problem. How can a nation of people look towards our president as the person they want their children to be if he is weak and willing to say “not me baby; it was the other guys fault”? Do I want a president who will let the Buck Not Stop Here? The answer is no, but for the next 3 odd years I do. [Good point. For a man who gets great satisfaction trotting around the globe apologizing on behalf of his country for all its alleged sins before he got in office, he sure has a big problem accepting blame for things that he is responsible for.]
We know that President Obama says one thing, but does another. We know he says “[t]he United States Government has no interest or intention of running … the auto industry”, yet has no problem dictating time tables for mergers, or making deals with the Auto Workers Union without the corporate board present. [He also said that as president he wouldn’t be beholden to lobbyists, and we all know how that turned out.] We know he is willing to back Auto Industry warranties. (I would love to see Barak Obama change my car’s oil; it would be the first real job he ever held.) We know he wants the auto industry to ratchet up mileage for cars, and is in favor of ethanol, even though it has been proven to be more costly and more economically and ecologically harmful then gasoline. [Unfortunately, George W. Bush shares a lot of the blame for pushing ethanol. He was just doing being politically and environmentally correct, but tragically it never won W a single brownie point with the enviro movement.]
We know that President Obama says he is bipartisan in his thinking and actions. Yet his record has shown that he has always either voted with the Left (and the far Left) or not even voted on the issue (I refuse to allow a “Present” vote count for anything.) And now, with Justice Souter retiring, we will get to see him appoint someone who believes in legislating from the bench. My money is on Sonia Sotomayor, who is not only Hispanic (upcoming mega voting block), but has said that it is appropriate to use one’s position as a woman and a person of color to determine judgments. Screw the law … screw the checks and balances, my hormones and genetic makeup tell me that you are guilty. [Hmm, I’m reminded of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, who notoriously said, “You do what you think is right and let the law catch up.” I’m sure President Obama is a huge fan of Marshall.]
We know the president loves his daughters. We know this because he got them a $3,500 play set (it is reported that this was paid for by the Obamas themselves.) We know he loves them because he got them a dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog (which by the eats and drinks out of Swarovski crystal bowls, a gift President Obama received on his recent trip to Prague). I wish I knew more about our President than I do about his dog, about which he has said “I finally got a friend.”
We know the president likes to spend money—your money. We know he spent $488,334,933 on the campaign (by the way, no one knows how much he raised since it was all private finances). We know he has pushed the individual share of the national debt to $36,457.64 as of this writing. We know that he wants to spend (he himself has said that he will not scale back his vision due to a poor economy, which goes back to Chief of Staff Emanuel’s quote):
- $65 billion-a-year on his health plan,
- $15 billion in green energy spending (whatever that is),
- $85 billion in tax cuts and credits (like Cap and Trade, which will be a disaster for not only the economy, but for the environment),
- a $25 billion-a-year increase in foreign aid (this includes $900 million to the Palestinians as a reward for destroying their ability to prove they can run a state),
- $18 billion a year in education spending,
- $3.5 billion for a national service plan. (Ahhh, the creation of an Obama Army: “We cannot continue to only rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” If this does not scare the bejesus out of you, I do not know what will. Did you know that the first thing Hitler did when he became Chancellor was to have the Wehrmacht General Staff pledge allegiance to him, and not the State. This, the generals said, made a huge difference in their attempts and ability to assassinate or disobey Hitler.)
I know that this country is in trouble. But, it is my hope that by continuing to question, and shine light on the darkness and issues we see forming and growing within our country we will be able to be able to lead when others realize that they have been tricked into following a false messiah. [False messiah, indeed. Hence my own moniker for our esteemed leader: “President Golden Calf.”]
