And let me say this to aaaall of the chattering class that focuses on those little, tiny—yes, porky—amendments: The American people really don’t care.
That, my friends, is the sound of elitism.
That is the sound of the drunkenness of government power.
That is the sound of the detestable smarmy Chucky Schmucky Schumer of NY telling us what he thinks of the American people.
In 10 seconds, Chuck Schumer illustrated what your government thinks of you. You are either the “chattering class,” merely a bunch of insignificant rabble-rousers. You are simply nuisances, like flies annoyingly buzzing around his nose. Or you’re just a bunch of easily manipulable sheep who are really too stupid to care what the government is doing behind your back.
Either way, Schumer’s message to the American people is loud and clear: F**k off.
See the YouTube video clip here.
Incidentally, would you buy a used car from this clown? No. Then why a stimulus package pork bill?
Reader Loud Lion sent in the following letter, which he sent to Schumer’s office:
Please note that as an United States citizen, and a proud taxpaying one at that, I do care about these Pork Amendments cluttering the so called “Bail Out” Economic Stimulus package.
Please remember what it is like to be an honest wage earner, and not a power monger/broker. While all roads lead to Rome, Rome burned under the weight of the errors of the politicians. Please realize that throwing money at a situation does not always fix it. If you want to hold onto the Congress (which as architect of the 2006 midterm takeover I am sure you are) realize that Congress needs to be in tune with the American Public, and not the wishes of the Democratic Party.
If you too would like to tell Schmucky you care, click here for Michelle Malkin's blog, where she posts all the relevant contact info.
Michael Eden at the Start Thinking Right blog adds:
A trillion seconds ago, human beings were pretty much all living in caves. And this Porkulus package will be over $1.3 trillion with interest.
And, according to Democrats, Americans don’t really care if a bunch of it is pork - or some politically correct liberal euphemism for “pork.”
This Porkulus will create massive permenant government spending to fund new programs.
The Congressional Budget Office says that the “stimuls” is worse than doing nothing at all. And in fact the “Why Worry About Pork Act of 2009″ will undermine the economy and reduce GDP in the long run.
Americans don’t really care about pork?
As the saying goes, “Apathy is one of the gravest problems facing our society. But unfortunately, nobody cares.”
Yes, and let me also add something that El Rushbo says from time to time: America's most expensive commodity is ignorance.
So I guess, in a way, Rush and Schmucky are right.
Welcome to the future, suckers.
